The Paris Lions Club

The Paris Lions Club was chartered in May 1979 and has 50 members in the Paris & Holliday communities.

The Club carries out several projects each year such as a basketball tournament for youth and assisting with Handicap Deer and Turkey hunts in Spring and Fall at Indian Creek Corp grounds area.  The Club contributes $2400 each year to the eye Research Foundation in Columbia.  We collect used eye glasses which are upgraded in Columbia and given to the needy.  We purchase eye glasses for young students that can't afford the expense.

The Club meets the 1st Thursday and 3rd Wednesday of each month at the Middle Fork Restaurant, Paris, MO, at 7:00pm.

The purpose of the Lions is to create and foster a spirit and understanding among people of the world, to promote the principles of good government and good citizenship, and to encourage service-minded people to serve their community without personal financial reward.

Officers for the 2001- 2002 year are:

Ronnie Fields, President
Johnnie Ragsdale, 1st Vice President
Keith Dowell, 2nd Vice President
Charles Rosenkrans, Secretary
Gerald Ragsdale, Treasurer
John Gilmore, Assistant Treasurer
and nine board members.
