Will be held in the Former Paris Intermediate School Building beginning at

the Monroe County Extension Office on Tuesday, October 5, at noon.

Native Plant Seminars to be held Paris
Seminars on the use of native plants will be held in Paris on October 99
at the Monroe County Health Department, in conjunction with the Fall-in-to
Paris Celebration sponsored by Let's Grow Monroe. These seminars will
give landowners and other plant enthusiasts a chance to learn about ways to
implement native plants on their own property for beautification, wildlife
habitat improvement and better livestock grazing. The seminars are
free and anyone with interest in this subject is welcome to attend. In
addition a number of native plant vendors will be on hand in the Farmer's
Market area with native plants to sell.

Wildlife Habitat Improvement
Jamie Ebbsmeyer and and Andrea King
Jamie is the local Private Lands Conservationist for the MDC and
Andrea is a Resource Conservationist for the NRCS. Their seminar
will discuss farm bills that assist landowners in establishing native
plants for wildlife habitat improvement. The Bobwhite Quail
Initiative will also be discussed.

Barbara Fairchild
Barbara is communication specialist for the Grow Native! Program
sponsored jointly by the MDC and the USDA. Her seminar will
discuss ways to implement native plants on your own property,
advantages of using native plants, and how to obtain information about
native plants.

Improving Wildlife Habitat on
Your Farm Suzanne Baxter
Suzanne operates a wildlife habitat consultation service out of Baxter
Farms in Palmyra. Her seminar will give tips on how to improve
wildlife habitat on your farm and increase numbers of quail, turkey,
and deer.

Reestablishing Native plants Bill Dreyer
Bill operates a consultation service called Native Habitat Restoration
in Montgomery City. His work includes restoring historical
native plant communities. His seminar will include tips on how
to reestablish native plants on your farm for better range management,
and livestock grazing.
